SPRING 2020 PAVING

SPRING 2020 PAVING

On April 14, 2020 the Town Council approved issuance of an Invitation to Bid (IFB) for street paving, milling, and line striping. It is our hope that the work will be completed before June 30, 2020, but there are any number of complications that could delay the date on which the successful bidder mobilizes.

The IFB provides for paving the following street sections:

  • Hermitage Blvd. from South Church St. to South Buckmarsh St.
  • Tyson Dr. from Hermitage Blvd. to the street’s temporary terminus
  • Tyson Dr. from Hermitage Blvd. to Lincoln Ave.
  • Lincoln Ave. from JWMS entrance to the street’s southern terminus
  • Lindsay Ct.
  • Isaac Ct.
  • East Fairfax St. from First St. to Page St.
  • Stayman Dr.
  • Blossom Dr.
  • Cobbler Dr.
  • Page St. from East Fairfax St. to the street’s northern terminus
  • Academy St. Extended

Important things to know:

  • Parking restrictions will be posted in work areas at least 48 hours before paving operations commence.
  • The Town does not intend to sweep the street sections listed above because the contractor will clean the gutter pan after milling and paving.
  • Typically, operations occur in the following order:

 - DAY 1 - milling (where applicable).

 - DAY 1 or 2 – paving.

 - By DAY 21 - gutter pan sweeping (where applicable).

 - By DAY 21 - line striping (where applicable).

  • Some of the street sections listed above may be eliminated from the paving project if required to meet budget constraints.
