The Town of Berryville has contracted with Duke’s Root Control, Inc. of Elgin, Illinois to complete an evaluation of the Town’s sewerage collection system. This work will identify sources of inflow and infiltration. The Town will use the results of this study to prioritize maintenance projects in the sewer collection system. Such projects will reduce the amount of inflow and infiltration into the collection system, thereby recapturing collection and treatment systems capacity and reducing treatment costs.
Representatives from Duke’s will be in your area to begin their work during the week of August 21, 2022. This project will take at least eight weeks to complete.
This method of evaluation requires representatives from Dukes to access manholes located within street rights-of-way and utility easements (including those on private property). When manholes located within easements on private property must be accessed, Duke’s personnel will enter the property in question and may have to park in the property’s driveway for a short period of time (this will aid in optimal positioning of their camera truck and equipment). The sewer monitoring equipment installation process should last less than 45 minutes per manhole. This work will not affect the operation of the sewer, and there will be no disruption of service at any point. Equipment installed at the beginning of this process will have to be removed at the end of the evaluation period. Further, it is possible that monitoring equipment will have to be serviced during the evaluation period.
