Notice of Vacancy on Berryville Town Council
Diane Harrison, Ward 2 Councilmember, announced she will resign her position on the Town Council effective September 1, 2025.
The Town Council will immediately begin a process to appoint a representative for Ward 2, which constitutes much of the southeast quadrant of Berryville (PDF) . Citizens who reside in Ward 2 who are interested in appointment to the Council are asked to submit the following information to the Berryville Town Clerk (townclerk@berryvilleva.gov) by August 18, 2025:
- a completed Talent Bank Form (form is available on Town’s website - PDF),
- resume, and
- cover letter which details why the applicant would like to be appointed to the Council and highlights applicable expertise and experience.
The Council plans to publicly announce the names of the individuals who have asked to be considered for this position when the Council meets on September 9, conduct candidate interviews in the last two weeks of September, and appoint a new representative from Ward 2 on October 14, 2025.
It is expected that the new appointee’s term will begin in October 15, 2025 and end on December 31, 2026.
