[ARCHIVED] Severe Weather Notic

Current weather forecasts indicate that our area will feel the effects of the storm now known as Hurricane Florence.  While the storm’s final track, strength, and speed are unknown; current tracking indicates that Berryville and Clarke County will be affected by the storm as early as Thursday.

We recommend that everyone take this opportunity to evaluate their emergency preparedness plans.  Accordingly, please visit http://www.berryvilleva.gov/2192/Disaster-Planning for information regarding emergency preparedness.

Please make sure that you are prepared to meet your family’s basic needs for at least 72 hours.  Please make sure that you secure outside furniture and the like in order to prevent such items from becoming projectiles in high winds.  Please also make sure that gutters and drains are clear of debris.  Lastly, in the event of a severe weather event in our community, please check in on your neighbors but do your best to stay off of roads during the height of the storm and in its immediate aftermath.
