[ARCHIVED] TOWN OF BERRYVILLE TOWN COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Berryville Town Council will hold the following public hearing at 7:30 p.m., or as soon after as this matter may be heard, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, in the Main Meeting Room, Second Floor, of the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Virginia, to consider the following:

Water/Sewer Rates, Fees, and Charges

The Berryville Town Council proposes to amend its Schedule of Water and Sewer Fees and Charges to adjust rates, fees, and related deposits to meet revenue needs identified in a recently completed utility rate study. 

The proposed changes to the Schedule are extensive. The highlights of the proposed changes include: adoption of a new monthly administrative fee of $2.50 for water service and $2.50 for sewer service, a 25 cent reduction in water user fee rate and a 27 cent increase in the sewer user fee rate, and an $8,250 increase in the water availability fee (5/8” meter) and an $8,250 decrease in the associated sewer availability fee.

If the new Schedule is adopted, then it is expected to become effective on November 22, 2019.

Copies of materials pertinent to this matter, including the utility rate study and the proposed Schedule of Water and Sewer Fees and Charges, may be examined at the Town of Berryville Business Office, Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, Virginia, during regular business hours, holidays excepted. Additional information may be obtained by calling the Town Business Office at (540) 955-1099.

Any person desiring to be heard regarding the above matters should appear at the appointed time and place. Written copies of statements at public hearings are requested but not required.
