[ARCHIVED] Water Service Interruption Notice - Thursday, August 5, 2021

Water Service Interruption Notice

Thursday, August 5, 2021

9:00 am –3:00 pm (approximate work hours)

In case of inclement weather conditions work will proceed on next clear day

A water service interruption will be necessary in order to install new water valves on a water main that supplies water service to some residences and businesses. This interruption will occur on Thursday, August 5, 2021, between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Please note these times are approximate and may be extended depending on working conditions.

            Areas affected include:

                        Byrd Avenue

Josephine Street from Railroad Tracks East

                        Virginia Avenue

                        Station Road

                        Berryville Graphics

                        VA Marine Investments

If an interruption of water service occurs and when water service is restored, you may experience air in your service or cloudy water.  If this occurs, run the cold side of your faucet until the water clears.

Helpful hint: Filling your bathtub with several gallons of water before the interruption may help with some household needs (for non-potable water) during the outage.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will restore water service as soon as possible in the affected areas.  If you have any questions, you may call the Department of Public Works at 540-955-4843.
