In accordance with § 15-19 of the Berryville Code, a snow emergency is in effect when ice begins to form or snow of a depth of two (2) inches or more lies on the streets within the Town. The snow emergency remains in effect for twenty-four (24) hours from the time of the last snow or formation of ice, unless sooner lifted by the Town Manager.
In accordance with § 15-20 of the Berryville Code, the following streets are snow emergency routes:
North Buckmarsh Street
Hermitage Boulevard
Tyson Drive between Hermitage Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue
§ 15-21 of the Berryville Code establishes restrictions that are in place during a snow emergency. Those restrictions include:
No vehicle may operate on streets within the Town unless equipped with effective tire chains or effective snow tread tires
No person may park or abandon a vehicle in the traffic lanes of any street in town or obstruct or impede traffic or snow removal operation on any street in Town
No vehicle may be parked on designated snow emergency routes during snow emergencies
Please take note of these requirements. Your cooperation will assist Berryville Department of Public Works and Virginia Department of Transportation crews in their snow removal operations.
