Various weather forecasters are warning our area to expect a significant snow event for this weekend. Strong wind gusts are expected to accompany this snow storm.
Everyone should be prepared to address their own basic needs for at least 72 hours. Emergency preparedness info can be found at the following website:

Please avoid parking along streets (including in cul-de-sacs) if at all possible. This will assist road crews during clearing operations.
Town and VDOT crews will focus on Primary Roads and high priority secondary roads during the snow event. Most secondary streets will not be passable until well after precipitation ceases to fall.
Please do not pile snow in a manner that blocks access to fire hydrants. If you are able, then please consider assisting emergency services personnel by clearing snow from around fire hydrants in your neighborhood.
Be prepared. Be safe. Don’t go out unless absolutely necessary.
If you determine that you need shelter, then contact Clarke County Communications at 955-1234 and let them know of your need.
Updated information will be posted on the website as it becomes available.
