[ARCHIVED] Winter Storm Information

This is an important notice from Clarke County and the Town of Berryville. Please read the message in its entirety. A major winter storm is in our area. Snowfall is expected to continue into Sunday. Total snowfall estimates range from 24 to 36 inches. High winds are also expected as a part of this storm.
Given the size and nature of this storm citizens should expect an extended period of time in which they will not be able to leave their homes.
In the event of a power outage, please take necessary precautions when using generators, space heaters, candles and the like to prevent fire or carbon monoxide poisoning. Make sure that you have functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors with battery back-up.
Again, use great caution when using generators, space heaters, candles and the like.
You are asked to check on neighbors who may be particularly vulnerable.
If you require emergency shelter, then call Clarke County Communications at 955.1234. For all other emergencies, please call 911.
If you have snow removal equipment or snow mobiles and are willing to assist County emergency services during this storm, then please call 955.5113 and provide County personnel with information regarding the equipment and its availability.
Lastly, please restrict travel to only emergency situations. This will allow road crews to clear roads more quickly and efficiently.
